Highlights:
  • Net Positivity: Strong Net Positivity scores from Alphabet, Comcast Corporation, and T- Mobile US were the main drivers of Communication Services being the highest scoring individual sector in this category once again.
  • Numeric Transparency: Utilities was once again the most transparent sector in the quarter with a score of 3.09% which was also an improvement versus Q4 2023. 
  • Language Complexity: The S&P 500 sector with the highest score (least favorable) for Language Complexity was Utilities again, contributed by more complex language in transcripts from firms such as Exelon and NextEra Energy.
  • Analyst Selectivity Ratio: For Q1 2024, S&P 500 constituents had an Analyst Selectivity Ratio of 42.94%, slightly lower versus last quarter and below the average over the last year.
