Bryan Malinowski, the executive director of the Little Rock airport, was injured in a shooting with federal agents at his home early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Here's what authorities have disclosed so far: agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were at Malinowski's residence at 4 Durance Court to serve a federal search warrant when Malinowski opened fire, according to the ATF. Malinowski was shot and transported to a hospital.
One agent sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The Arkansas State Police is investigating the use of deadly force.
Bill Walker, the chair of the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission, said in a statement after news broke of the incident that he had named the airportâs Deputy Executive Director Tom Clarke acting executive director.
âTodayâs incident saddens us, and we pray for everyone involved,â Walker said.
Malinowski, 53, is the highest-paid Little Rock official and has led the airport since 2019.

A North Little Rock representative has been confirmed to another seven-year term on Central Arkansas Water's board of commissioners.
Carmen Smith, 43, got the approval of the Little Rock Board of Directors in a 6-3 vote, with one member absent, during a meeting yesterday.
Her reappointment was approved by the North Little Rock City Council earlier this month. To serve on the water utility's board, individuals must be approved by both Little Rock's and North Little Rock's governing bodies.
Smith's new term, her third, will run through June 2031.
