A Little Rock Fire Department captain died over the weekend after jumping from a moving vehicle driven by his wife, according to an Arkansas State Police incident report.

Robert Hild had worked for the department for 25 years and was assigned to Fire Station No. 9.

Hild had been in an argument with his wife, Amanda, throughout Saturday evening. He jumped from the 2012 Jeep Wrangler while it was traveling around 45 mph in Maumelle, Daniel McFadin reported.

A New Jersey man has admitted to a scheme to fraudulently acquire loans and properties, including the Little Rock apartment complex known as the Big Country Chateau.

Aron Puretz, 53, pleaded guilty last month in federal court in New Jersey to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud affecting a financial institution.

To obtain Big Country Chateau in 2019, Puretz submitted false information to a financial institution that concealed his identity as the actual buyer of the property, according to a court filing.

He faces up to five years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 30.
