New must-see solutions: OE FIXâ„¢ engine intake manifold, air cleaner lid and more

PROBLEM:

The original equipment intake manifold on certain Ford F-150 trucks with 5.0 liter Coyote engines tends to fail prematurely, particularly when the vehicle is regularly subjected to road salt and other harsh conditions. The resulting rough idle, backfiring, and overheating accompanied by a check engine light can quickly lead to an expensive repair. The dealer solution is costly and requires purchasing an entire new manifold and the related components, and many other aftermarket solutions simply mirror the OEM design and invite similar future failures.

FIX:

This upgraded Dorman OE FIXâ„¢ intake manifold is engineered with runner rods and peripheral components made of stronger and more corrosion-resistant stainless steel to provide a more permanent repair. This improved design also saves installation costs by allowing functional components including the MAP sensor, actuators, and fuel hoses to be swapped from the old manifold. For a complete repair, this manifold comes complete with O-rings for the MAP sensor, PCV outlet, and EVAP purge valve, pre-installed mounting bolts, and self-tapping screws.

PROBLEM:

On certain Jeep Cherokee vehicles, the fitting for the PCV valve hose often snaps off of the airbox housing. That fitting is friction-welded to the airbox during manufacturing, creating a weak spot, and when it snaps, the only replacement available from a Jeep dealership is the entire airbox assembly.

FIX:

This Dorman OE FIXâ„¢ airbox lid uses a stronger molded PCV valve fitting with reinforcements for additional strength. This part also saves repair costs by replacing just the damaged lid, which is not available as a separate part.

PROBLEM:

On certain GM vehicles, when a transmission pan is leaking or in need of routine service, loosening and lowering that fluid-filled pan is a messy business.

FIX:

This Dorman OE FIXâ„¢ transmission oil pan is designed to match the fit and function of the original equipment pan but is manufactured with a handy drain plug to allow the transmission fluid to be removed before service.
