185 state employees in executive branch receive raises of at least $10,000, including 73 in attorney general’s office

One hundred and eighty-five employees who work for executive branch agencies and other offices and agencies outside of the state's colleges and universities received raises of at least $10,000 in fiscal 2025 that started July 1. Seventy-three work for the attorney general's office, according to state records.

Arkansas Public Defender Commission’s executive director says more than 30 could face layoffs if request for $1.25M in state funds denied

Gregg Parrish, executive director of the Arkansas Public Defender Commission, told lawmakers Monday that he expects to have to start laying off slightly more than 30 part-time attorneys who work as public defenders if the Legislative Council doesn't grant the commission's request for $1.25 million in state funds this month.
