🧪 SESH Co-Founders Return With “Absorption” Brand

After a first taste of the beverage industry, Zeke Bronfman and Nate Medow are back for a second round.

In case you don’t recall, college buddies Bronfman and Medow were the team behind startup XED Beverages, which launched in 2021 with RTD cocktail line Sesh and, later, released Hape Sake Spritz. When the company was acquired by Next Century Spirits in late 2022, it opened the door for the pair to jump back into a passion project that had been relegated to the back burner: teaming with actors Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder on The Absorption Company (TAC), a wellness-minded supplement platform with a unique edge.

Months after its initial detection, the highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1) outbreak is continuing to wreak havoc on egg-laying chickens and dairy cows. On Tuesday, a case of bird flu was detected among a massive flock in Sioux County, Iowa, and, as a result, the 4.2 million infected birds will be killed. 

🥚 CPG giant Post Holdings yesterday reported that Michael Foods’ third-party contracted egg-laying flocks in Minnesota and Iowa tested positive for avian flu. According to the announcement, the facilities house roughly 5.7 million egg-laying hens, or approximately 14% of Post’s controlled supply. 

🐮 Late last week, beef tissue from an infected dairy cow tested positive for bird flu, as reported by NYT. The sick cow had already been condemned to be culled and the meat did not enter the U.S. Food Supply.
