It's good to know that at least some reasonable regulatory changes can win quick approval without months and months of debate.

That's what happened with a new rule that will let advisors keep their addresses out of BrokerCheck if they work from home. FINRA submitted the proposal on June 27 and the SEC gave it the green light within days.

Normally, such approvals only come after months of discussion and frequent revisions to the original proposal. Witness FINRA's other remote-work related rules.

But here was a "noncontroversial" proposal that seemingly everyone thought reasonable. No need to delay something like that.
