Sasha Velour Is a ‘Socks-and-Sandals Kind of Gal’

When she’s not wearing four pairs of pantyhose and tight heels, drag queen Sasha Velour told us in this week’s What I Can’t Live Without that she needs a pair of shoes that lets her feet breathe. “But I’m not going to subject people to what they look like,” she says, “so I’m a socks-and-sandals kind of gal.” Her go-to sandals are the affordable and classic universal Tevas. “I do have to replace them every year for the sake of my arches, but they’re a solid sandal.” As for socks, any pair that lets people know “you’re still a freak and you have a sense of fun” will do, but one of her favorites is this pair, made by Danish designer Henrik Vibskov. “I try to only wear that pair once a year so it doesn’t get worn out.”
